Newton at Edulearn 2017

Following the presentation of our Newton Enhanced Gamification Model at the 2016 Edulearn conference, project partners White Loop, Qui Group and Beyond are returning to Barcelona in July 2017 to present a working model of the evaluation approach to be implemented across the Newton pilots.

This model recognises the weaknesses of previous models and focuses on three key elements that, we believe, are critical to proving the efficacy of new technologies within an educational setting. First, we will look at knowledge and skills acquisition (critical for any new educational innovation); second, we will consider student engagement and student motivation (in itself a key aspect of achieving learning objectives); and finally we will explore the impact of teachers (an area often neglected in this type of analysis).

We are currently finalising the model and will publish it in July. For more information about the Edulearn conference go to https://iated.org/edulearn/.
