On 17th May 2019, Atos IT Solutions Slovakia, STU Bratislava and Kybertec have organized an exploitation workshop for the representatives of primary and secondary schools in Bratislava and other cities.
The main goal was to introduce NEWTON project in its final stages. Gregor Rozinaj from STU Bratislava introduced the scope of the project, followed by Radoslav Vargic, Peter Trúchly (also from STU Bratislava), Oto Sládek from Kybertec and Jana Súlovská from Atos IT Solutions Slovakia, who described results of pilot testing which have taken place in Slovakia.
The session was followed by practical examples of the NEWTON technologies used in pilot testing. Both teachers and students have tried virtual and augmented reality applications, and showed particular interest in trying these in practical education.
The most eminent part of the workshop was discussion among teachers and students, with both participants and non-participants of pilot testing. We wanted to find out whether the approach we took in NEWTON, actually reflects the needs and desires of both students and teachers. More than 80 representatives of 12 schools who took place in the discussion, showed plurality of views on how NEWTON technology could and should be used in education to improve gained knowledge.
