Buccino, Salerno – ITALY, May 19th, 2018
During the “National Festival of Museums” event, the National Archaeological Museum “M. Gigante” in Buccino (SA) hosted its “Virtual Museum” created in the H2020 NEWTON Project (www.newtonproject.eu) for the Pilot Project “GAM LAB – Italy” experiment in held in Salerno, Italy.
Throughout the day of May 19th, visitors were not only able to visit the “real” Museum, but also an innovative and interactive virtual learning environment in which the “Virtual Museum” of Buccino is an integral part: armed with 3D headset and controllers, they could manipulate the virtualized artefacts, viewing and exploring all its features in 360 degrees.
The Mayor Mr. Nicola Parisi, the Assessors Mrs. Maria and Katia Trimarco warmly welcomed the visitors, especially students and teachers from the “G. Da Procida” Institute in Salerno, true protagonists in the learning experience of the NEWTON Project. The day ended with the “virtual tour” by Dr. Adele Lagi, Head of the Museum “M. Gigante“.
