A delegation from Fontys University, School of ICT, Eindhoven has visited National College of Ireland (NCI) in November 2016 to explore potential academic and research collaboration. Lecturers from NCI and Fontys universities have exchanged knowledge and ideas on the latest pedagogical approaches for teaching STEM subjects that are being researched and applied in the two universities. The Fontys guests were introduced to the NEWTON project and innovative technology-enhanced pedagogies being explored in NCI such as flipped classroom, online problem-based learning, gamification and game-based learning, game-based flipped classroom, and virtual reality. The Fontys guests presented their novel teaching and assessment approach focused on the application of ICT. Collaboration, exchange and research opportunities were also discussed.
